Once upon a time, there was a young boy who was bored sitting at home. He decided to go for a walk around his house, but just before he left, his father said “Walk where you want, but don’t open that blue door.”

The boy was walking all around the house, opening and closing doors. He quickly grew bored again, but then he came to the blue door.

Temptation got the better of him and, even though his father had forbidden him to open the door, he decided to open it anyway.

He twisted the door knob and opened it a crack. Suddenly, a horrible skeleton popped out and chased him around the house.

Running down the stairs with the skeleton in hot pursuit, the boy began shouting for his father.

“Dad! Dad!”, he screamed.” There’s a skeleton chasing me!”

His father appeared, holding an axe, and chopped the skeleton into little pieces.

“I told you not to open that door” said his father. “Now, go back to what you were doing, but make sure you don’t open the blue door again.”

The boy began walking around the house again, and soon he got bored. He went back upstairs and opened the blue door. Suddenly, a terrible headless man popped out and chased him around the house.

The boy ran back downstairs and screamed for his father.

“Dad! Dad!”, he cried.” There’s a headless man chasing me!”

His father appeared, holding a shotgun, and blasted the headless man with both barrels.

“This is the last time I’m going to warn you”, said his father. “Do not open that blue door. If you do, you only have yourself to blame.”

The boy began walking around the house again, for things to do. Soon he was out of ideas. He stood in front of the blue door, wondering if he should risk opening it again. Curiosity got the better of him and he twisted the knob. The door swung open wide and his father was standing inside, holding an axe.

“I warned you!” screamed the father as he chopped his son into little pieces.

The End.

The legend of Gore Orphanage begins with a married couple named Johann and Katharina Sprunger who lived in Indiana. After their young son and daughter died under mysterious circumstances, Mr and Mrs Sprunger decided to start an orphanage.

They called their orphanage The Light of Hope Orphanage. Unfortunately, it burned down in 1899 and three orphan girls were burned alive in the blaze.

Putting this tragedy behind them, the Sprungers moved to Vermillion, Ohio, where they started a new orphanage in 1903. This was called Gore Orphanage and, eventually, they had over 100 boys and girls living there.

But all was not well with the children of Gore Orphanage. Rumors of darkness and despair soon plagued the old place. The children told horrific stories of abuse, neglect and slave labor.

Mrs Sprunger cooked cow’s heads and lungs and forced the children to eat the foul meat or starve. Mr Sprunger beat the poor kids with a leather strap until their bodies were covered in bloody welts and bruises. He would also rent out the children to local farmers as slave labor.

The boys and girls were only allowed to wash themselves once every two weeks, and they all had to use the same bath and dirty bath water. The children’s rooms were infested with rats which crawled into their beds and bit them while they lay asleep.

Soon, the terrified children began trying to escape from Gore Orphanage. Some of them managed to run away from the home, wading through the Vermilion River and finding refuge with some generous people in Vermilion.

One cold night in December 1923, the orphanage caught fire. Nobody knows how the blaze started. Some people say that one of the orphans accidentally knocked over an oil lamp. Others say Mr Sprunger started the fire because he hated the children and wanted to collect insurance money.

That night, Gore Orphanage burned to the ground with all the children trapped inside. The fire swept through the old building, springing from one room to another. The children desperately tried to escape the inferno, but the stairs was blocked by flames.

The dreadful cries and screams of the children trapped inside the blazing building could be heard by horrified onlookers. The deadly fire continued to burn until the screams finally fell silent and the orphanage was reduced to a charred, smoking shell. The blaze had claimed the lives of over 100 poor orphan children.

Ever since that night, people have seen strange apparitions and ghostly figures lurking in the field where Gore Orphanage once stood. They say that if you go there late at night, you can still hear the sounds of children screaming and pleading for help. The air is still filled with the smell of burning flesh and roasted children.

Despite the fact that the site is now a vacant field, many people have heard the sound of doors opening and shutting and footsteps walking across wooden floors. There is also an old tire swing hanging from a tree near the site where they say you can see a ghostly young boy swinging silently back and forth.

A giant farm dog and a tiny piglet cuddle up as if they were family after the baby runt was dismissed by its own mother.

Surrogate mum Katjinga, an eight-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, took on motherly duties for grunter Paulinchen - a tiny pot-bellied pig - and seems to be taking the adoption in her stride.

Lonely Paulinchen was luckily discovered moments from death and placed in the care of the dog who gladly accepted it as one of her own. Thankfully for the two-week old mini porker, Katjinga fell in love with her at first sight and saved her bacon.

Motherly love: Baby piglet feeds on its new surrogate mum
And the unlikely relationship has made the wrinkly piggy a genuine sausage dog. In these adorable images Paulinchen can even be seen trying to suckle from her gigantic new mum.

The two animals live together on a huge 20-acre farm in Hoerstel, Germany, where Katjinga's owners Roland Adam, 54, and his wife Edit, 44, a bank worker, keep a pair of breeding Vietnamese pigs.
Nose place like home: The baby piglet nuzzles up to its new mum

Property developer Roland found the weak and struggling piglet after she was abandoned by the rest of her family one evening after she was born.

He said: "The pigs run wild on our land and the sow had given birth to a litter of five in our forest.
"I found Paulinchen all alone and when I lifted her up she was really cold.
Feeding time: Piglet's new canine mother has no problem providing milk for the youngster

"I felt sure some local foxes would have taken the little pig that very night so I took it into my house and gave her to Katjinga.

"She had just finished with a litter of her own, who are now 10 months, so I thought there was a chance she might take on the duties of looking after her.

"Katjinga is the best mother you can imagine. She immediately fell in love with the piggy. Straight away she started to clean it like it was one of her own puppies.

"Days later she started lactating again and giving milk for the piggy. She obviously regards it now as her own baby."

Mum of the year? Quite possibly.

Hello! Thanks to those who left comments in my blog, I really appreciate it. I will be visiting your blog shortly after this post. Something really tense and sad happned this morning in our house. It involved primarily my mother and my sister, who just had her baby last December.

My sister has always been a very sensitive person. Sensitive in the sense that she doesn't like being reprimanded (who does, come to think of it) and she doesn't want to be made to feel that she is not in control. Now, my mother on the other hand, is a very domineering and opinionated woman. When she wants to say something, she say it at once, regardless whether or not if it was delivered in a tactful and nice way.

What happened was that my sister was putting her baby (my niece Yahannah, I posted her pictures here in my blog) to sleep and she had to go out of the room to do something. My mother was cleaning the house because she was expecting company, one of her organization comes every Tuesday morning here in our house. Now, we were all startled when my sister, her name is Aiza, suddenly screamed and of course we all rushed to the room where the baby is in. It turns out that Aiza saw the baby (Yahannah) lying on the floor when she entered the room, prompting her to scream like that.

Now my mother loves Yahannah, so she was really concerned for the baby so I guess without meaning to, she let fly some choice words like "stupid girl" to my sister. She took the baby from Aiza's arms and then started to cradle the baby. Now my sister was miffed about this and said that she already has everything taken cared of and she grabbed the baby from my mother's arms.

Needless to say, we (my younger twin sisters and I) were all taken aback by this disrespectful behaviour by out sister. Though we must admit that sometimes, Mommy tends to get a little overboard and she does say things which are hurtful, we had to give her the respect she deserves especially since she is our mother. Mother definitely thought that my sister was showing poor behaviour too and she immediately let my sister have it.

So for 10 minutes, mother began her tirade against my sister Aiza (that if weren't for the baby, Mommy would have turned her out of the house, that Aiza was a bigheaded, Aiza is always afraid that people are taking the baby's affection from her, that sort of thing) whioch of course made the atmosphere in our house very tense and we were all quiet.

Now guys, what is your opinion about this? I know that some of my readers are also parents. If this happned to you, you're a new mother and your own mother was teaching you how to take care of your child, how would you handle the situation?

Well, needless to say, Aiza and Mommy are giving each other the cold shoulder now. I hope this would be resolved soon. That's it for now, take care and enjoy!

Running through the fields with her newly-born foals, mare Royal Beatrice has good reason to celebrate - after managing the astonishingly rare feat of producing twins.

The 22-year-old New Forest Pony has shocked equine experts with the surprise birth of healthy twin foals because the chances of both surviving are so slim.

In nearly all cases, one or both foals die in a twin pregnancy because the mother's uterus cannot support two babies.

Horseplay: Newborns Bess and Royal go for a trot with mum Royal Beatrice

The chances of a mare giving birth to healthy twin foals are about 1 in 10,000, experts said today.

But little filly Bess, and colt Royal, have defied the odds by becoming the first twins to be born in the New Forest, Hampshire for many years.

And at just a few weeks old, the playful pair are lapping up all the attention they are attracting from horse lovers across the country.

Royal Beatrice gave birth to the pair at St Leonards Farm near Beaulieu after mating with a spotted Appaloosa Cockaroost Pazaz stallion.
The inquisitive foals survey their new home side-by-side

Bess and Royal can thank their father for their distinctive white markings and have been registered as First Cross New Forest/Appaloosa ponies.

Secretary of the New Forest Pony Breeding and Cattle Society, Jane Murray, said: "It is extremely unusual for horses to give birth to twins like this.

"To get both foals surviving to full pregnancy is a very rare feet indeed and we only have a couple of examples in our stud book of it ever happening before.

"But it is even more rare when the mare is so old. At 22, I think it's fair to say that Royal Beatrice has done extremely well to have healthy twins.

"Her owners can be well and truly chuffed."

Owner Stacey Gulliver from Beaulieu added: "Although my dad did mention she looked a bit fatter than is usual, it was a total surprise that it was twins, especially as they are so rare."

Happy families: The foals were unexpected

The British Horse Society's senior executive of welfare, Lee Hackett, said the overall chances of a mare giving birth to healthy twins are 1 in 10,000.

He said: "This is incredibly rare and it is wonderful news that both these foals have been born healthy.

"In most cases both of the foals will die during pregnancy, or if you are lucky one might manage to survive.

"Most owners will choose to abort as soon as they realise that the mother is expecting twins because they don't want to risk losing the mare as well.

"Horses are just not designed to carry twins. The mother's uterus is not large enough or well enough equipped to cope with them."

He added that a mare's placenta cannot support the needs of two growing foals once they reach a larger size in the later phases of pregnancy and therefore one or both die.

Twins account for around 15 per cent of all pregnancies in thoroughbred horses but in only 10 per cent of those cases will both foals survive to the point of birth.

And even if they make that far, only 15 per cent of those will result in a successful birth of two live foals.

The odds are even slimmer in cross-bred horses, Mr Hackett said.

Blessed be!

In ancient days there lived a man and his wife, and they were blessed with a little girl, who was the pet and idol of her parents. On one occasion the man was called away on business in distant land. Before he went he told his daughter that if she were good and dutiful to her mother he would bring her back a present she would prize very highly. Then the good man took his departure, mother and daughter watching him go.

At last he returned to his home, and after his wife and child had taken off his large hat and sandals he sat down upon the white mats and opened a bamboo basket, watching the eager gaze of his little child. He took out a wonderful doll and a lacquer box of cakes and put them into her outstretched hands. Once more he dived into his basket, and presented his wife with a metal mirror. Its convex surface shone brightly, while upon its back there was a design of pine trees and storks.

The good man's wife had never seen a mirror before, and on gazing into it she was under the impression that another woman looked out upon her as she gazed with growing wonder. Her husband explained the mystery and bade her take great care of the mirror.

Not long after this happy homecoming and distribution of presents the woman became very ill. Just before she died she called to her little daughter, and said: "Dear child, when I am dead take every care of your father. You will miss me when I have left you. But take this mirror, and when you feel most lonely look into it and you will always see me." Having said these words she passed away.

In due time the man married again, and his wife was not at all kind to her stepdaughter. But the little one, remembering her mother's words, would retire to a corner and eagerly look into the mirror, where it seemed to her that she saw her dear mother's face, not drawn in pain as she had seen it on her deathbed, but young and beautiful.

One day this child's stepmother chanced to see her crouching in a corner over an object she could not quite see, murmuring to herself. This ignorant woman, who detested the child and believed that her stepdaughter detested her in return, fancied that this little one was performing some strange magical art--perhaps making an image and sticking pins into it. Full of these notions, the stepmother went to her husband and told him that his wicked child was doing her best to kill her by witchcraft.

When the master of the house had listened to this extraordinary recital he went straight to his daughter's room. He took her by surprise, and immediately the girl saw him she slipped the mirror into her sleeve. For the first time her doting father grew angry, and he feared that there was, after all, truth in what his wife had told him, and he repeated her tale forthwith.

When his daughter had heard this unjust accusation she was amazed at her father's words, and she told him that she loved him far too well ever to attempt or wish to kill his wife, who she knew was dear to him.

"What have you hidden in your sleeve?" said her father, only half convinced and still much puzzled.

"The mirror you gave my mother, and which she on her deathbed gave to me. Every time I look into its shining surface I see the face of my dear mother, young and beautiful. When my heart aches--and oh! it has ached so much lately--I take out the mirror, and mother's face, with sweet, kind smile, brings me peace, and helps me to bear hard words and cross looks."

Then the man understood and loved his child the more for her filial piety. Even the girl's stepmother, when she knew what had really taken place, was ashamed and asked forgiveness. And this child, who believed she had seen her mother's face in the mirror, forgave, and trouble forever departed from the home.

One evening, the shopkeeper was about to close up for the night when he realized there was still one customer left in his store. It was a pale and thin young woman in a filthy dress. She was standing silently in the corner, and seemed to be waiting for him to notice her.

The shopkeeper asked the young woman what he could do for her. She would not look him in the eye and, without a word, stepped forward to the counter. She extended her arm and pointed at the refrigerator behind the counter where the storekeeper kept his milk bottles.

The storekeeper picked up a bottle of milk and set it upon the counter. The girl pointed again to the refrigerator, so he removed a second bottle of milk and set it on the counter as well.

Suddenl;y, the shopkeeper heard something fall off a shelf behind him. When he turned back around, he was shocked to see the young woman had disappeared, along with the two bottles of milk. He checked the door of his shop and found it was still locked. Then he searched around the store, but there was no sign of the mysterious woman.

The next day, just at closing time, the young woman in the filthy dress appeared again, almost out of nowhere. One moment the store was empty and the next moment she was standing at the counter pointing at the refrigerator. This time two empty milk bottles sat on the counter.

The storekeeper looked into her hollow eyes and saw streaks and stains from many tears making paths in the dirt on her face. He was a compassionate and generous man and he knew that this young woman was in need of help. So he took two new bottles of milk and set them on the counter for her. Then he turned his back to allow the poor young woman an opportunity to leave without having to pay. He never heard the door open or close, but when he turned around again, she was gone.

On the third day the storekeeper was determined to find out who this woman was and what her circumstances might be. It was possible he could give her husband a small job sweeping out the store or stocking the shelves. H

Again, just before closing time, the young woman appeared out of nowhere and stood pointing at the refrigerator. The storekeeper put two more bottles of milk on the counter and tried to ask the woman some questions. Just as he was about to speak, the cash register drawer flew open and fell to the floor. When the storekeeper looked up again, the woman had gone.

This time he was determined to find out more about her, so he locked up the store and took off down the road leading out of town. He caught a glimpse of her up ahead as she turned off the road and walked down an old overgrown path. He followed her, creeping through the woods until the path led him to the town cemetery. The cemetery gate stood open and he heard a strange sound coming from inside. He followed the sound deeper and deeper into the cemetery until he reached the newest graves.

Now he could hear the sound clearly. It was the distinct sound of a baby crying. What terrified him was that it was coming from beneath him. Standing over a fresh grave with no headstone to mark it, he could plainly hear the cries of a baby growing louder and louder.

Grabbing a nearby shovel he began to excavate the shallow grave and soon reached a wooden coffin. Falling to his knees and scraping the dirt aside, he tore open the coffin’s lid.

There before him lay the dead body of a young woman. The same young woman in the torn and filthy dress who had visited his store three times. Her skin was grey and her eyes were just hollow sockets, and in her arms was a cold and hungry baby, still alive and crying. And in the coffin beside the baby stood two empty milk bottles.

My mother told me this story, and everytime she tells this story she always cries. This took place in the province of Bicol here in the Philippines.

Well, this is what happened. Its about my mother's friend whom we will just call Delia. This happened way back in the 1980's. Her family was poor but she didn't care, she had her husband and kids (a boy aged four and a baby girl barely a year old) and that's what counted. They lived in Naga City for less than a month, and they needed desperately to find a place to live. My parents found an apartment, which was supposedly "haunted". Everyone called it the, "the ghost house" but they weren't scared, they needed a place to stay and of course it was cheap.

When Delia and her family got settled in at their new place, her husband received a phone call from his aunt who lives in Manila saying they needed him to do some business there and since they needed the money, Delia's husband left. So it was just Delia and her 2 young kids who were left in the apartment.

One night, Delia's baby daughter was sick and kept on crying. Delia tried her best to make her feel better. Delia began to breastfeed the baby but she woudn't suckle. Because Delia was also tired taking care of the baby and her little boy, she fell asleep.

In the middle of the night Delia woke up, and saw this man, a young man with an unearthly glow, walking towards the door of their apartment holding something... He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Delia was very surprised to say the least and looked at the door because the apartment door had three locks and there was no way he could have come in without making any noise.

Delia looked at her baby daughter and she tried to wake her up--but she wouldn't wake up--the ghost must have snatched the baby girl's soul--because the baby was DEAD.

Delia was of course almost mad with grief, but it was already too late to do anything. She just consoled herself saying it must have been a good ghost because he was wearing a white shirt, he was probably bringing her spirit to heaven.

There was once a poor woman who had a little girl. The girl had to go every day into the forest to fetch wood. Once when she had gone a long way to seek it, a little boy, who was quite strong, came and helped her industriously to pick up the wood and carry it home, and then before a moment had passed the strange child disappeared.
The girl told her mother this, but at first she would not believe it. At length she brought a rose home, and told her mother that the beautiful boy had given her this rose, and had told her that when it was in full bloom, he would return. The mother put the rose in water. One morning her child could not get out of bed. The mother went to the bed and found her dead, but she lay looking very happy. On the same morning, the rose was in full bloom.
